Some of the tracks I have won on include; Daytona International Speedway, Road America, The Milwaukee Mile, Road Atlanta, Indianapolis Raceway Park, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and Virginia International Raceway, just to name a few. Current Series: WKA Roadrace Series Dart Kart Club Chassis: Emmick & CKT Goals: To race in the Skip Barber Midwest Series, move into the Star Mazda Series and continue moving up to faster race cars until I reach the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series or Indy Car Series. Strengths: Ability to remain calm when something goes wrong. Never give up on a race; always working toward winning the race. Outgoing, friendly and always open to suggestions. Courtney Atkinson started her racing career in 2006 at the Badger Kart Club in Dousman (WI). Courtney started racing in the Yamaha Jr. Sportsman class and moved up to the Jr. SSX Can class mid-season. Due to the class change, Badger Kart Club awarded Courtney in the Jr. Sportsman class with 12th place. Courtney was also named Junior Rookie of the Year. In 2008, Courtney decided to run WKA full time in the Jr. Sprint Lite and Jr. Sprint Heavy classes while also running the Dart Kart Club series. Courtney started the year in Daytona Beach (FL) with wins in both classes. Two races into the season, Courtney decided to try her hand at racing a Laydown Enduro kart while still running the Jr. Sprint classes. Courtney took to the Enduro kart very quickly getting a win her first weekend out in the Jr. Enduro Heavy class at Summit Point (WV). From there, she never looked back amassing 20 National wins, 4 Grand National wins, 7 Regional wins, 4 National Championships and 4 Dart Kart Club Championships. Courtney was also awarded the coveted WKA Triple Crown Club trophy, the Badger Kart Club National Enduro Driver of the Year award and the Overall Dart Kart Club Champion award. For 2009, Courtney moved up to the WKA Piston Port Can Lite, Piston Port Can Medium, PP Can Sprint 360 #1 and PP Can Sprint 360 #2 classes. In the third WKA event of the season, Courtney got her first senior-class race win. The end of May, Courtney ran the first Championship Enduro Series (CES) race of the year. This gave Courtney the opportunity to try her hand at a new class, Yamaha Sportsman. Courtney was up for the challenge taking a win in the class. June brought the prestigious WKA Grand National races at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course. Courtney was the only driver to leave Mid Ohio with three Grand National wins and a second place finish in the Piston Port Can Medium class. From here Courtney was on her way, winning one race at Road America (WI), sweeping all four races at Virginia International Raceway, winning three races at Putnam Park (IN), two races at New Jersey Motorsports Park and one race at Road Atlanta (GA). Courtney finished the WKA Road Race season with championships in Piston Port Can Lite, PP Can Sprint 360 #1 and PP Can Sprint 360 #2. She finished in second place in Piston Port Can Medium. In the Dart Kart Club (DKC) Series, Courtney finished the season with championships in Piston Port Can Lite and PP Can Sprint 360 #1, a second place in PP Can Sprint 360 #2 and a fifth place in Piston Port Can Medium. A stud failure in the medium class dashed her hopes of finishing in first or second place.
